·       Memoir and Life Writing group

I have been part of the vibrant writing community The London Writers’ Salon since March 2020. This experience showed me how much can be done through the belonging to a virtual community.

Since the autumn of 2020 I have facilitated a Memoir and Life Writing group in The London Writers’ Salon (check my profile here.) Writers from across the world have been coming together to work on their craft and to support each other. We have been meeting up online on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month.

Over the summer of 2022 (14 July-25 August) I hosted a weekly memoir writing workshop in the community over zoom. Fourteen writers from across the world came together to help each other bring their stories into the world. I usually set out the group’s activities at the end of my monthly newsletter post.

In January 2023 I stepped down from hosting and facilitating this group to focus more closely on my own writing, but I am grateful to have had the opportunity to get to know fellow memoirists and their stories.

·       52 Weeks towards a Good Life: a Stoic practice

A group of fellow students of Stoicism and I set off on a year-long journey towards a good life on 30 January 2022. We have worked through Live Like A Stoic: 52 Exercises for Cultivating a Good Life by Massimo Pigliucci and Gregory Lopez. We exchange experiences over a dedicated slack community, meet up monthly over zoom, and learn a a lot from each other! Massimo and Greg joined us on our first zoom meet-up on 26th February, and again on 23rd July. You can watch the first event here, or for audio only here. You can watch the second event here.

More information can be found here. I usually share some of what we have worked on in my monthly newsletter, starting from this post.
